For this set we decided to just use a simple concept, a blue knight. And with the helm we thought it’d be fun to stick a Goblin in this set. This set is mostly a mix of the crafted cobalt armor and the Hour of Twilight Heroics blue plate drops. A couple of pieces will require you to farm some Wrath of the Lich King raids, but it’s nothing crazy at all.
Since we made an Argent themed Pally set and Tauren really don’t fit into that, we decided to make a Sunwalker set for Tauren instead. Like the Argent one, this one matches the Sunwalker Kodo. Finding good pieces for this set was a challenge, and the only thing that was really a given were the shoulders. We were half tempted to use some of the Zandalari DPS pieces for gloves and such, and if you wanna mix those in feel free (although it’d be a shame to replace the shoulders).
The shield will require you to do max level pvp, and the shoulders come from the Hyjal raid. The weapon is easy enough, come from the Argent Champion daily vendors for 25 marks, and most of the set is assorted random greens you can purchase from the Auction House.
If you’ve ever done the Argent Tournament dailies, this armor is meant to match the Paladins of that faction. We also wanted to make sure it went great with the Paladin only Argent Charger mount, which is why we tried to match all three of the colors as tightly as possible. We think the mace works perfectly too because its the only model of its kind and was very expensive to craft when it was relevant, so a lot of players won’t even recognize it.
This is a moderately easy set to create if you’re willing to farm some fairly easy BC raiding for gear. A lot of the pieces can be bought or crafted, and everything that can’t comes from Karazahn/Serpentshire/The Eye.
This set came to be because a friend of ours wanted to use the Conquerors plate set after getting all the pieces in a Karazahn run. I thought maybe a golden set would look pretty nice so I thought I’d use the Conquerors set and just replace a few pieces. Funnily enough I end up replacing every piece except the pants and feet, but it fits in spirit I think. There aren’t very many good golden helms unfortunately, and you might prefer just to use the hide helm option. This set isn’t class specific in the slightest, so any plate wearer can sport it.
All of the pieces are fairly easy to get, the only raid drops are from Molten Core and can easily be solo’d. The tabard does require a bit a of a rep grind so if you prefer you can just go without. Since most of the set is random greens you may have to do a bit of AH stalking to obtain them all, but you could more or less get the whole Conquerors set by running Karazahn once or twice to supplement any missing pieces you might have.
We pretty much just wanted to get as many matching pieces together with skulls on them together for this Death Knight set. And as you might imagine finding Death Knight pieces with skulls on it was not a tall order to fill, nevermind the fact that it is all more or less the same shade of black. Admittedly we did choose the axe with the matching blue glow of the shoulders/helm because we really felt it tied it all together perfectly, but the Arcanite Reaper is definitely a great replacement if you’d rather just have more skulls. You may wish to use the Death Knight starting belt instead as well, while will be purchasable come 4.3 at Acherus for Death Knights only.
Most of the set is Death Knight tier gear or PVP gear, both of which are pretty easy to obtain since most Northrend gear can be purchased from vendors, but a few will require you to raid.
